Subject: Observer and Observed

From: "E.J." <ejLight@Light-Mission.org> Date: Sat, 05 Sep 2009 19:44:46 -0700

"You cannot see and listen to the outside without wandering on to the inside. Really the outside is the inside and the inside is the outside and it is difficult, almost impossible to separate them. You look at this magnificent tree and you wonder who is watching whom and presently there is no watcher at all. Everything is so intensively alive and there is only life and the watcher is as dead as the leaf. There is no dividing line between the tree, the birds and that man sitting in the shade and the earth that is so abundant."

Subject: Ah... Nature.....

From: "E.J." <ejLight@Light-Mission.org> Date: Mon, 07 Sep 2009 08:26:59 -0700

Greetings All,

I would say that all elements in Nature are Alive and Alive AS the very Present Moment. Nature is indeed quite resourceful and *seems* to plan for some future event, but every Action is taken AS the Present FOR the Present and BECAUSE of the Present Moment. Nature Observes Completely or Totally or Intently, undistracted by some petty conditioned concern. It is when we Intently or Totally Learn and Listen and Observe, undistracted by our conditioned notions, that we See. Otherwise we simply see our own projected conditioned notions. What is important to Nature is NOW, so it would seem that NOW must be Reality or What-IS -- according to the Wise Teacher we call Nature. Nature, offering such a Wise and profound Teaching, is it any wonder that many have and still do worship Nature?

"Ordinary-mindedness is the way. Do not delude yourself by seeking truth elsewhere. Just pay close attention to the small daily happenings, and gain insight from life."

Subject: What IS IS What.....

From: "E.J." <ejLight@Light-Mission.org> Date: Fri, 11 Sep 2009 12:30:09 -0700

Metta All,

As long as there is still a shred of a conditioned notion that we cling to, our perception and understanding will be colored by it and therefore distorted. Any distortion of What-IS is not Truth nor Reality, but rather still yet another figment of our conditioned deluded mind. An Illusion, as it were. As we try to let go of our conditioned notions we rationalize those notions that we are too attached to in our attempts to avoid the pain of discarding them. As much of a burden as they are, as much a struggle as they cause, as much suffering as they incur, we cling to these defilements as though they were our very life source. And indeed, they are the life as we are conditioned to know it -- yet it is really Death, the Death of our Awakening.

Subject: Self Observation.....

From: "E.J." <ejLight@Light-Mission.org> Date: Tue, 15 Sep 2009 06:41:26 -0700

Namaste,

It is in the Observation of ourselves and our reactions and where those reactions originate and why we would react and how/why we are controlled and manipulated by our conditionings, that we Unfold our Awakening. The observations of others can be wonderful Pointers to that which we should Observe in ourselves, but our own *reactions* is where our Attention should be if we are to Awaken. 2,500 years ago an East Indian said "Know yourself," 2,000 a Jew said "Know thyself," 1,500 years ago........ Repetition is not a new phenomena, and after all such repetitions people still do not seem to grasp that our Awakening is in Observing ourselves. And a self-inquiry. To *be a Lamp unto yourself* we must Dwell Within and Openly and Honestly Observe ourselves. It is sometimes called Seeing our Reflection in the Mirror of Truth, where we can not hide.

"Enlightenment is not something special. It's the most ordinary thing. Getting up and eating your breakfast, going to the toilet... except that you do it with consciousness. That's the only difference. Either you do it awake or you do it asleep. And it is there for all of us. The choice is yours. Either you do it unconsciously or consciously."

Welcome,

Come on INside there is a Party that never Ends For you look Lonely out there with all your friends, So just sit right down and BE Still right Here For the Sound of Silence is the Song you'll Hear, Let the phenomenal world go on its own way For it can not Hear you no matter what you Say.

You won't get anywhere along that Busy Highway It's not in what has been but what you ARE Today, Through the Valley of Suffering you must Walk Singing your Song Dancing your Dance you Talk, To whom and what good are those words you Say Until you ARE the very Peace for which you Pray.

Shanti, ej
