Subject: A Simple Servant.....

From: "E.J." <> Date: Thu, 01 Oct 2009 21:14:16 -0700

"Between the conscious and the unconscious, the mind has put a swing; all earth creatures, even supernovas, sway between these two trees, and it never winds down.

"Angels, animals, humans, insects by the million, also the wheeling sun and moon; ages go by, and it goes on.

"Everything is swinging: heaven, earth, water, fire, and the Secret One is slowly growing a body. Kabir saw this for fifteen seconds, and it made him a servant for life."

-- Kabir (Al-Satguru Kabir) East Indian Poet/Mystic/Saint

Subject: Learning Curve.....

From: "E.J." <> Date: Sun, 11 Oct 2009 08:25:35 -0700

"You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called *life*. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or hate them, but you have designed them as part of your curriculum. There really is no way to avoid the lessons you are presented with, nor is there any chance that you will be able to skirt around the learning process."

In "The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ", Jesus says: "Before the Vedic days, the world had many sacred books to light the way; and when man needed greater light the Vedas, the Avesta and the Tao Great appeared to show the way to greater heights." (Chap.14, vs. 19)

"Man may believe what others say; but thus he never knows. If man would know, he must himself be what he knows. "Now, if you have no better proving of your plea than that the priests have told you so, you do not know; you simply guess." (Chap.32, vs. 13 & 15)

"The perfect age will come when every man will be a priest and men will not array themselves in special garb to advertise their piety." (Chap.35, vs. 15)

"Keep in tune with the source and all your actions will be correct. If you don't there will be trouble no matter what you do. With arrogrance of ego there is not skillfulness and without arrogance everything is skillful."

Is not the lack of arrogance a blessing of staying in tune, not unlike many of the gifts of the grace of being: humility, unconditional love, awareness my watcher is always is only when I get in the way the blessings seem so far away...

Greetings Bonnie,

Thank you for joining in. I think you answered your own question of arrogance being a blessing when you said "it is only when I get in the way the blessings seem so far away." You see, anything to do with an 'I' would be of an arrogant nature thus far from a blessing. It is arrogance that blinds us from seeing the Way and prevents us from being skillful in practicing the Way. It is arrogance that gets us in trouble and ignorance that keeps us there.

That is my take on Papaji's statement. Anyone else care to offer their's?

Be Well Dear Friend, ej

Greetings Again Bonnie,

Again thank you for your perceptive take on Papaji's statement. What you said was as I see it too. I regrouped when I realized that I misread your post on Papaji's statement. I was in a hurry this morning when I replied {8-)

Subject: Solitude.....

From: "E.J." <> Date: Wed, 28 Oct 2009 12:11:18 -0700

"There is convincing evidence that the search for solitude is not a luxury but a biological need. Just as humans possess a herding instinct that keeps us close to others most of the time, we also have a conflicting drive to seek out solitude. If the distance between ourselves and others becomes too great, we experience isolation and alienation, yet if the proximity to others becomes too close, we feel smothered and trapped." -- Jeffrey Kottler

"In solitude the mind gains strength and learns to lean upon itself." -- Laurence Sterne

"Solitude is painful when one is young, but delightful when one is more mature." -- Albert Einstein

"Conversation enriches the understanding; but solitude is the school of genius." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
