Hell's Funeral Fire

First, machines are machines doing what they are programmed to do -- much like the vast majority of humanity. The difference is that mechanical machines are more efficient and more effective and more dependable than human machines. Secondly, mechanical machines affixed with an on-board computer far exceeds the abilities of the human machine affixed with a warped distorted wasted conditioned brain. The difference is that the human machine has unfolded a Mind -- a mind that was able to come up with the computer and the machine. So, yes, our brain-child has exceeded us in many ways and we learn from it and further ourselves with it's aid. Further ourselves in the physical realm, that is. What happens when a machine is Still ? Atrophy, inertia. What happens when a computer is Silent ? Dead in the water, shut-down. What happens when our body is Still ? Rest. What happens when our mind is Silent ? Wisdom, Insight.

Our cleverness in this area can Free us from many of the time consuming drudgeries of simple physical survival. Which should Free us to spend more of our time and our effort in Working on ourselves, BEing who we really ARE. The problem is that, shown time and time again, such terminological advances simply make us lazier and more dependant on the technologies. A sad commentary on the state of humanity. For the vast majority of humanity, their primary focus is on *leisure and pleasure* -- that which keeps them Sleeping. They are as a boat adrift, it's direction controlled and manipulated by the currents of the world they live in. Unsuspecting that this current is taking them somewhere. It is taking them to a plunge over the falls, whence the boat and themselves will Crash on the rocks and boulders below.

Machines and computers, as intelligent as they may be, are machines and computers doing what machines and computers do. They are Awakening, BEing themselves. It is humanity that is not BEing themselves, they are BEing as machines and computers. It is humanity that is Sleeping, and must Wake-Up from his Illusion that he is supposed to be an automaton or computerized machine.

Unconditioned, we are without judgement, so there can be no "unconditioned judgement". Only in our conditioned mind is there good and bad judgement. The whole concept of good and bad or right and wrong requires judgement. Sleeping, we make such judgements and call them good or bad relative to our conditioned notions. Awakening, there is no good or bad as there is no judgement as to either. Whatever IS simply IS, neither good nor bad, so Awakening we would have nothing to judge. Discernment is not good judgement, but rather the Recognition of that which impedes (What-ISNOT) our Awakening and what aids (What-IS) our Unfolding Awakening. It is not a judgement as to What-IS and What-ISNOT, but rather a Recognition of the two and responding to What-IS. Only Awakening can we Recognize the difference. Awakening, we can Recognize What-ISNOT because that is where we WERE and Recognize What-IS because that is where we ARE. Sleeping, there is no Recognition because our understanding is limited to What-ISNOT. Sleeping, we respond to What-ISNOT, conditioned to *think* that it is What-IS, because that is all we can understand. This is the seat of all wars and conflict amongst the various cultures and religious groups. And so, Sleeping, we are *denying* What-IS. Sleeping, we are the Slayer of What-IS. Awakening, we are the Slayer of the Slayer of What-IS.

Sleeping, most conditioned notions are hidden because we are too Blinded by those conditioned notions to Recognize them. For Sleeping is the Darkness that pervades the Deep. Conditioned notions whither at the Light of Awakening. May I offer that you Observe very closely any underlying dualistic aspects. Therein may be found a Key that may unlock various doorways, various Pathways, in one's Awakening.

Clinging to anything is fooling ourselves and has nothing to do with Awareness or Awakening, for that very clinging will prevent our Awakening. We do not Wake-Up because we Fear *change* and Fear what we do not Understand (fear of the unknown, it is said).

Ah, but the Void is Full, and we can not "step into" anything or anywhere. Void is the emptying of ourselves of the Darkness of conditioned thinking and thereby BEing Full of Light. As there is nowhere to "step into" for "no matter where you go there you are". Dwelling IN the Void we are Full of Light and we are precisely where we are right NOW.

BEing Full of Light, we See. The "nothingness" that is so often spoken of is actually the absence of conditioned mind and *nothing* more.

May I offer that Truth can not be possessed, can not be gained nor obtained nor confined to one's holding. What you indicate is that it is your judgement or your belief, which may or may not reflect Truth (though judgements and beliefs rarely do). It is a matter of one's Experience. When one Directly Experiences Truth, then Truth is Experienced. Likewise, when one Directly Experiences judgement or belief then the judgement or belief is one's Experience. IN Awakening, we must Understand the difference.

Of course Hell and Satan exist, the same as Heaven and God exists. If in one's judgement or belief is that there is a Heaven and God then there is also a Hell and Satan. Likewise, if one's judgement or belief is that there is no Heaven and God then there is also no Hell and Satan. Dropping the judgements and beliefs, Dwelling IN the Silence (or lack of conditioned thinking), we Realize that none of these judgements and beliefs exist beyond our conditioned mind, for they are not What-IS IN the Moment. The concepts of Heaven and God afford us the luxury of something to look forward to, but there is no *forward to* IN What-IS IN the Moment. The concept of Hell and Satan affords us the luxury of fear, yet there is no *fear* IN What-IS IN the Moment. The Moment IS What-It-IS with no projected images and ideas and meanings into/onto it. Dwelling IN the Moment, concepts of Hell or Satan or Heaven or God are not Experienced and so bear little resemblance to What-IS IN the Moment. And is not Truth What-IS IN the Moment ? Which can not be judged or believed or held as one's own, but rather Experienced.

Yes, at times I do use the term *toxic* quite a bit (usually as more of an eye-catcher or shock-word). I separate conditioning by it's *intent*. Intent is a major factor in anything. That is to say that some conditioning or programming or learning is what we use to function in everyday life, such as work skills or social skills or abilities that allow us to maintain a certain similarity with the rest of the activities of the human race or learning how to operate a computer. Not *toxic*, but rather what we need to interact with physical existence. Then there is the conditioning or programming or learning that veils or gets in the way of our Awakening and Realizing the Reality of the Moment, such as beliefs or emotions or attachments of any kind. This type of conditioning is toxic to our Inner Awakening and prevents the Realization of Truth. It prevents us from being Open and Honest with both ourselves and with others -- in fact, prevents us from BEing. That is what I call *toxic*. For you see, regardless of our particular state of Awareness of What-IS, we must interact with the world at large on a day-to-day basis so we must have certain abilities to do so -- these abilities are conditioned. But when those abilities prevent us from Realizing our Self or Realizing Truth or Realizing Reality or Realizing anything not associated with mental activity, those seeming abilities become a detriment not only to us but to the rest of the world at large that we interact with. That is Toxic. To a very big degree (not totally), we are a product of our environment -- some of that is helpful and useful, and some is not. We would not want to get rid of all of our conditioning any more than we would want to get rid of thoughts or memories -- it is all in whether they control and manipulate us or we control and manipulate them.

I will only add that my experience has shown me that either specking of conditioning in a general sense as *conditioning* or using it in a dual sense of *conditioning and toxic conditioning* generates about the same *reaction* from the Sleeping and only mixed *response* from the Awakening.

I would say that he was conditioned as to how to make the bread or chop the wood or blow the fire or cook the meal or interact with the world. This has nothing to do with thinking and behavior, but rather a physical skill. He discarded his conditioned thinking and behavior or he would not be an enlightened Master, yet he uses useful conditioned skills. People use the term *learned* or *acquired* because they do not want to use the term *conditioned* (more conditioning). All I am saying is to call a spade a spade, and not try to fool ourselves by referring to it as a shovel.

Anything learned or acquired outside of Direct Realization IN meditative Silence, associating with something else, is conditioned -- some are good and some are bad. IN Awakening we See IN the Mirror of Truth the conditioning that is antiproductive to our Awakening and discard it. Anything beyond the basic instincts of survival is a product of our environment -- some is helpful and useful and some are not. Our Salvation rests in discarding that which is not.

Conditioned thinking which is detrimental to our Awakening because it is based on self importance and arrogance -- so must be discarded. Conditioned thinking which is useful and helpful and does not impede our Awakening so it does not have to be discarded. Nothing *BY* it, but everything by *OBSERVING* it and how it impedes our Awakening.

We already know *What IS NOT*, for we are conditioned to know that. But we are conditioned to *think* that What IS NOT is What-IS. And it is the Observation of this conditioned What-IS and how it impedes our Awakening that affords us the opportunity to find out What IS NOT. For indeed, we must know What IS NOT before we can Realize What-IS. So indeed, our efforts should not be focussed on What-IS but rather What IS NOT. Yet before we can Truly Observe What IS NOT we must discard the toxic portion of our conditioning -- not all of it, but rather the part that stands in the way of our Observing What IS NOT.

"Digging and soul searching" while still under the auspices of conditioned thinking will keep us under the auspices of conditioned thinking, for to "remain" in any belief system is to remain Sleeping. But if this is your experience, then by all means experience it in all it's dazzling wonder. After all, it is said that Sleeping is Bliss.

May I offer: that the first steps in Awakening are not "digging" or "soul searching" or even "Seeking", but rather discarding the conditioned thinking. If we do not Work on this first, our digging and soul searching and Seeking will be tainted by the conditioned thinking and therefore we will only *think* that we are Awakening. We will convince ourselves of it. You see, the only "escape from toxic conditioning" IS the escape of toxic conditioning and NOT "to weed out the chaff and to take what we need from the rest". For as long as we operate under the guidance of conditioned thinking ("the rest") we operate under the guidance of conditioned thinking. Experiencing the experience IS experiencing the experience, and nothing more (or less). As long as we remain a *something*, we delude ourselves into *thinking* that that particular *something* is Waking-Up. But how can being controlled and manipulated by any given *something* be Waking-Up ? Sleeping can not be so bad, after all, almost six billion people who are Sleeping can not be all wrong -- can they ?

May I offer, that any *beliefs* are impediments to our Awakening whether they be "God beliefs" or otherwise.

Why reinvent the wheel ? Is not Reality as it should be, AS it IS, What-IS, reasonable enough to consider it's Realization ? When we *create* a reality of our own, we only experience our own seeming contrivances of what may seem to be reality. "As a man thinketh, so is he".

Is this similar to a *split personality* ? Is there a dual nature to BEing ? The self and the Self in continuous battle and struggle for supremacy ? Is not our task to establish "the Two as One" ?

Would this include the "belief of separation" of self and Self ? May I offer, that the very *certainties* that we KNOW are the very *uncertainties* that keep us from Awakening. For as *creators of realities* we are but *Gamesters* in the Arcade of life.

Indeed, this Path is a Solitary one. But as Islands of our own contrivance we cut ourselves off from Help offered as Mirrors of Truth, for in *creating* our own reality we *create* our own truth and thusly Reality nor Truth can be Realized.

Was it the hideous reflection that you saw when you looked into the Mirror of Truth ? Were you not forewarned that it would be quite hideous and scary ? Or would it be that you *think* that the Price of *letting go of your conditionings* is higher than you are willing to Pay ? Or that the Cost would be a Cross to hard to Bare ? It has been said that we would give up everything including life itself for some cause (whether noble or not), but would be hard pressed to give up a single Causes of our Suffering.

No question is *stupid* when asked with earnest intent. But it is foolish to *react* to the Reflection of conditioned programmed automatonic puppets that our Reflection shows when we Look into the Mirror of Truth. Sleeping, we *react* -- Awakening, we *respond*. But nothing is *great* about Awakening -- is rarely found because it is so unpopular, there is no denomination of currency small enough to purchase it so it is rarely offered, buried so Deeply that it is rarely Seen, will elude any seeking for it, and like a phantom can not be held onto. It and a dollar, would not even get you a cup of coffee. It must be funny though, for those who propound it seem to be smiling most of the time.

If you are frustrated with yourself, why are you directing that frustration to everywhere else other than the cause of the frustration ? If you are frustrated with yourself, kick yourself in the butt, and keep going. Because you stumble and skin your knee, do you lay there helpless and whimpering ? To turn away from your Reflection in the Mirror of Truth is to deny it and continue Sleeping. To acknowledge and embrace that Reflection, regardless of the pain that must be borne to do so, is to Understand and "know thyself". To know yourself is to be able to Save yourself. *Knowing* is Truly Understanding, and *Saving* is Truly BEing. *Knowing yourself* is Understanding yourself, and *Saving yourself* is BEing yourself.

So you see, it is very important to Truly Understand *Aloneness* -- your Journey is a Solitary one, that must be Walked Alone. If others, even close relationships such as family, can not accept this because they can not understand it, we must Walk on as though parting ways with a stranger who happened to stop you to inquire about the direction to the nearest coffee shop. Otherwise you would be trapped in the circle of control and manipulation that Causes so much Pain and Suffering both physically and psychologically until admitted to the funny-farm. For once we Open the Door to our True Nature, we can never quite close it completely. It will always plague us until we Truly Embrace it and BE it. Do you See why Siddhartha said that it would be an almost insurmountable task to let go of the Causes of our Suffering ?

All *stumblings* in our Journey are a major Help in shaking our fixed gaze and forcing us to look around so as to Realize and Understand the Causes of our stumblings. In this way, layer by layer we peel away the Veils that keep us locked into our conditionings. You noticed these Veils before, but did not want to remove them for one seeming reason or another. And so *the cheese got more binding* and the Veils started getting under-foot, and so you tripped on them. Is it not cumbersome to Walk when you keep tripping on these Veils that are under-foot ? Cumbersome enough to Remove the Veils ?

Dwell Deeply IN recent Realizations and Understand it fully, and you Alone will Recognize what must be done to continue your Awakening. And as Arjuna found, the Course we must take IN Awakening is most often not an easy task. BE Well and Mindful.

So I would say that letting go of the cherished concepts that we cling to would be a step in giving the intellect nothing to intellectualize. For the brain is simply the brain doing what the brain does being the brain, as the mind is simply the mind doing what the mind does being the mind. Letting go of the conditioned contents of the mind that Veil our Awakening and we remove the fuel for the mind to do what it does best, which is conceptualize and intellectualize. That is, we can not discard the mind (or would want to) but we can Silence it.

Awakening can not be Truly Understood via the intellect or any aspect of mental activity. Awakening is all about *ceasing the intellect as Observing What-IS, AS it IS, without projecting our conditioned notions into/onto it. An intelligent person can indeed grasp Awakening faster than the non-intelligent, though intelligence is not a prerequisite. For the intelligence Helps us in our Awakening but can very well be a block to it. So I offer, understand Awakening with the mind BUT you will not Awaken through the mind. Awakening will not be in the *study* of Awakening, but rather in the BEing Awakening. IN/AS the Silence of mind, we Hear. IN/AS the Void of ideas and images and meanings, we See. IN/AS Awakening from the chatter of the conditioned mind, controlled and manipulated by the images and ideas and meanings contained therein, we ARE.

Is not our agreements and disagreements founded on our conditioned intellect, and then manifested psychosomaticly emotionally and then physically ? Agreeing to disagree would be either/or, yet putting "relative truths" aside and endeavoring to fathom the True Nature of anything would resolve to an *Aha*.

Not only is relative truths insufficient, they thwart the ability to Wake-Up from the delusions that these "relative truths" establish and set country against country as well as people against people. A house divided is dysfunctional. As said before, the necessary intermediate step towards Realizing ultimate Truth is letting go of our conditioned "relative truths". The fallacy of "relative truths" is that a bargain must be struck, a deal must be made, a give and take. On the other hand, Truth is AS it IS whether we like it or Realize it or not. And though we refuse to accept it, we have no influence on actual Truth, it will be AS it IS in spite of us. Not to burst anyone's bubble, but guess what -- manifested form (which includes the whole of the cosmos) was not *created* for the pleasure and consideration of the insignificant forms on planet Earth that we call humans. And we can not change the game plan. We either have the Eyes to See it, or not.

So it would seem that the colloquialism "it's all in your mind" is quite an Insight. So it would seem that all we have to do is get it out of our mind -- let it go -- discard it -- Silence it. "It" naturally being our conditioned notions.
