Defilements

One of the defilements of our Awakening is ambition, greed, selfishness, and other like attitudes. Our thinking and behavior will be controlled and manipulated by that perception, by the agenda to further those attitudes. Attitudes are mental, and the mind is conditioned. And we must let go of the conditioned mind in order to start Awakening and live in the Moment, confronting each Moment anew.

Now, this has nothing to do with any skills acquired to function in everyday life. Such skills are mechanical, tools allowing us to provide a service to another so that we can make a living. Such skills are not attitudinal and so do not involve ambition or greed or selfishness. The odd thing is that the more Awake we are the more perfected our skills. So it is how we use those skills that determines whether the use is of ambition and greediness and selfishness. Another odd thing is that the less ambitious and greedy and selfish we are in using those skills, the more Compassionate those skills will be. So you see, using our skills Compassionately without ambition and selfish desires will afford us as much or more success than otherwise. So the only question is whether we succeed Awakening or succeed Sleeping. To succeed Awakening we are Helping others, to succeed Sleeping we are using and harming others for our own benefit.

Ambition is ambition, and we can not separate the Spiritual from the physical. People do separate the two but it is a convenient illusion so they can rationalize their conditioned thinking and behavior. It all boils down to: whatever you do, if it accomplished your desires at the cost of depriving another, it is a defilement -- if it accomplished your needs and still enhanced another, it is not a defilement. So you are not giving up your dreams of success, but rather giving up your success at the cost of another's success. Sleeping, the strongest succeed -- Awakening, all succeed.

What is a Sage or a Saint or a Highly Developed person ? Has any of those WE call Sages or Saints or Highly Developed people said that they were Sages or Saints or Highly Developed ? Many have, but those are what Christendom calls "false prophets". WE call them Sages and Saints and Highly Developed because WE are still struggling with our conditionings that obviously they have already struggled with and transcended. They have Lived through the Battle that Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita had to go through so that they, as Arjuna, could start their Awakening. So they can offer us Wisdom and Insights so that we too can transcend our conditionings and start our Awakening. I say "start", but what I refer to is start Recognizing that we are actually *continuing* our Awakening. Once we Recognize the Causes of our Suffering (our conditionings) and do something (stop clinging to those conditioned ideas and images and meanings) to relieve those Causes, we ARE Awakening. Which IS no less Awakening than those we call Sages or Saints or Highly Developed people. It is just that they have Walked further along the Path than we have.

THAT is Awakening: BEing who you ARE each and every Moment from Moment to Moment IN everything you do without projecting conditioned notions into/onto that Direct Experience. You uttered the desire of all Sages, if indeed they have a desire.

Does it really matter "who" was the first to Realize that they had been duped by the Grand Trickster the conditioned mind ? Clinging to some past Moment keeps us from dwelling IN the present Moment. Lucky for us, though, that someone did. But let me assure you that it was long before our *recorded history*, which is only about 10,000 years anyway. There is a lot more history long beyond 10,000 years ago. But then, who cares ? The main thing is that we can glean the benefit of that far distant Awakening right NOW, because the Realization of such has been handed down from generation to generation and still totally intact -- unlike most redacted and otherwise altered Realizations that many call Scriptures.

I would not say that the meditators led the way, but rather that those who Woke-Up to the Tricks of the Grand Trickster Realized that there had to be practices to sustain such Awakening and to Help others get into the Mode of Awakening. Those practices too have been passed down generation to generation and were established as viable again long before recorded history. But again, does it matter ? What matters is that we can practice Meditation right NOW. You will find new Messiahs and Mahatmas and Gurus on every street corner Selling their wares. Indeed, those who claim it the loudest are the funniest.

Though Consciousness IS manifested form, Consciousness as an Operant Force needs not manifested form. As form manifests, the Consciousness that it IS animates it. If there is manifested form and it is animated (living), and animated manifested form IS Consciousness, I would venture a guess that it does exist. Though I do have my doubts as to whether there is much Consciousness while in the conditioned state of Sleeping. Aside from that, empirically, science has been showing for years in a number of ways that all manifested form (even the atom) senses or is Conscious of all other manifested form.

Consciousness IS form Vadantically. Some have stretch this to *imply* that there is a supporting factor, and indeed Consciousness does support itself, as the support of form, but in essence form is also the supporting factor of itself for it IS also the supporting Consciousness. May I offer that *if it is not broken, do not fix it*. That is, Observe form AS it IS, Consciousness at a given state, and not try to divide it into categories or parts. Einstein sort of summed it up when he said that "energy at it's lowest level of evolution is matter and matter at it's highest level of evolution is energy". That is, form and Consciousness are the same thing *appearing* to be different at any given state.

As said, science has measured Consciousness by the Fact that all manifested form (even the atom) is Conscious of all other manifested form. If it exists before it departs this physical form, it must exist afterwards also for Consciousness can not be destroyed. Consciousness can BE of a different state or form, but can not be destroyed. "In the beginning", in the initiation of this Cycle of existence as we know it, the Breath of Brahma, Consciousness was Operant and not yet manifested form as we know it. Consciousness not being static would evolve or build or excite to the point of manifesting form. Since the grosser the form the more susceptibility of degeneration, Consciousness is recycled but never again operant. Hitherto this particular Life Cycle of existence, that Life Cycle progressed much like this one. It is said that the orbiting moon of this planet is a reminder that we have been through this *before*.

Within given parameters, I suppose there could be contrived a beginning and an end -- though Consciousness IS very much Eternal and thereby very Beginningless and Endless as far as the likes of the feeble human form can discern. Until an apple fell from a tree onto Newton's head, then he Realized that he should Wake-Up. A good example of a manifested form (Newton) being Conscious of another manifested form (the apple that hit him on the head).

Sleeping, we are always angry, for our *poor little me* feelings are always getting hurt. So Sleeping, we conditioned to think that it is our inalienable right to be angry. Awakening, we are never angry, for we *respond* IN every Moment AS it IS and not as we are conditioned to react to it. So Awakening, anger is a stranger to us and therefore we can not BE angry. "As a man thinketh, so is he".

Awakening, there is no *poor little me*, there is only embracing and responding to each and every Moment anew AS it IS and not how we are conditioned to react to it or be in conflict with it. Sleeping, we are always in conflict with others who Sleep. Awakening, conflict is a stranger to us so when conflict arises we respond with Compassion and Understanding. Fire Fighters have shown us that fighting fire with fire or gasoline is futile, that we must fight fire with water.

May I offer that neither body nor spirit is important in the exclusion of the other. We could not have one without the other. It is sort of a cooperative effort, in that one would not be without the other. Clinging to either body or spirit Veils our Awakening, for any attachments distract us from attending to the Moment. So to compare one to the other and make some judgement as to the importance of either, I would say both are Illusion for dualistic comparing and conditioned judging are both Illusion. There is only importance IN the very present instant Moment, and even that is not to be clung to for the Moment is anew each Moment. Anything clung to is an attachment, any attachment is a defilement, any defilement is a stumbling block to our Awakening, and we remain conditioned programmed controlled manipulated robotic automatons by that which we cling to.

When we Silence the thoughts, when we peer Deeply into the Void, we Realize that nothing is "apart" from anything. That there is no True Self, that there is no Body, that there is no Mind, that there is only BEing, that there is only Hearing, that there is only Seeing, that there is only What-IS, that there is no conditioned projections to please the Grand Trickster, that there is not even the Grand Trickster.

That which you feed will Live. As you feed one the other will starve and die, killing both. So feed nothing save your Awakening, and Awakening will feed your Whole BEing. The past is not Real for it is done and gone, as the future is not Real for it is not yet. Feed neither. Reality is only IN the very present Moment, so indeed feed NOW. There is no solution as there is no answer, so why look for one. There is nothing to be found as there is nothing to find. Wonder not, for all is a Wonder. Seek not, for that which you seek will always elude you. We are self-contained, so all that we Need is right where we ARE. YOU are what YOU Need, yet YOU are hidden from your own Observations by the myriad of conditionings that we cling to.

Awakening controls nothing, manipulates nothing, IS nothing. Awakening IS the Direct Experience of Observing What-IS AS it IS, and Melding IN the Wonder of All that IS -- to BE that Wonder. It is most Awesome to Recognize the intricate Balance of the Cosmos in a smile, or the Grace of Compassion in a random act of Honesty, or the additive Wisdom of all of the Sages of Yore in the expression of True Understanding. The Grand Trickster the conditioned mind controls and manipulates, especially our Awakening. When we are Free from the Grand Trickster, we are Free to BE and enjoy the Wonder of all else BEing. A "method" to this madness ? It is really more simple than requires a "method", for it is simply *Letting Go* of the Grand Trickster. Which is though simple it may be, however, the most painful and difficult undertaking we will ever have to face. Yet success is not in "winning" this major battle of letting go of the clinging to our conditioned notions, but rather in letting them go. For there is no real "winning", for there is no real Goal, but rather a Continuing Success in continuing to discard our habitual clinging to those conditioned notions. It is when you *think* that you have *won*, or *think* that you have achieved some *goal*, that you have lost and have gone back to Sleep.

Sleeping, memory controls and manipulates us. Awakening, we control and manipulate memory. Why "loneliness" ? Could it be a mistaken identity of *Aloneness* ? For Realizing that we are Alone is Awakening, and feeling loneliness is Sleeping. Those Awakening are Alone even in a crowd, and loneliness is the conditioned notion without a crowd. The discernment between the two is quite important.

The mind, our conditioned ideas and images and meanings and notions of all sorts control and manipulate our every thought and every activity. And we cling to the false security of those conditioned notions, that conditioned perception. Our Salvation lies in not clinging to those conditionings -- letting go of the Causes of our Suffering. Yet, it is one thing to Recognize that our programmed automatonic state is indeed our shortcoming and downfall, but it is entirely another thing to do something about letting those conditionings go. A number of people can Talk the Talk, but only a few have been able to Walk the Walk.

There is a duality in that which we separate, and duality is not Real. For Wisdom is the Realization and Recognition and Understanding of What-IS Truth and Reality. Any mental contrivances are the works of the Grand Trickster the conditioned mind. This is also called the work of the ego, in a nonOccult sense. To be intelligent we must learn at least one new thing each day, yet to be Wise we must forget at least one thing that we have learned each day.

The judgmental good and bad or right and wrong is but an Illusion. If we are automatons controlled and manipulated by the notion of reason then we are Sleeping, and if we are Free from the conditioned mind we are Awakening. What-IS is What-IS, however, it is time for humanity to Wake-Up from his slumber. Sleeping, as religion and social thinking and behavior in general, has had it's purpose -- but it is way past due for us to Hear the AlarmClock and Wake-Up, and let go of our conditioned beliefs and belief systems.

0====[::::::::::> Sword of Truth <::::::::::]====0

The truth or god that is found is not Truth or God, but rather the truth or god we were looking for. In our conditioned minds we make sure that we find that for which we seek, as a security blanket to cling to in times of stress or threat. For Truth and God are closer to you than you yourself are, so it makes little sense to look for them. It is not a matter of looking but rather a matter of BEing, and not projecting any of our preconceived notions into/onto that Direct Experience of BEing. Only IN the Silence do we Hear, only IN the Void do we See, only IN Awakening we ARE. When we ARE, all else IS What-IS. And this very instant Moment in the only Moment that BEing will be of any relevance, for it is the only Reality that we have to work with. So when we stop looking and start BEing, when we let go of the past and the future and dwell IN the Moment, then and only then can we Realize Truth or God. Only in losing ourself do we Realize ourSelf.

When you see a tree, do you see the tree or do you see the sun that the tree needed to continue living and make it possible that the tree could be seen by you that Moment ? Do you see the water that the tree needed to continue living and make it possible that the tree could be seen by you that Moment ? Do you see the nutrients that the tree absorbed from the earth to make it possible that the tree could be seen by you that Moment ? Do you see the soil that the tree has grown out of so as to make it possible that the tree could be seen by you that Moment ? Do you see the wind that the tree needed to help it get rid of un-needed leaves to replenish those leaves to make it possible that the tree could be seen by you that Moment ? Do you see the birds that sang form the tree's branches and perhaps found a home in those branches ? Do you hear the song that the birds sang ? So you see, All IS One and there is a certain interdependence of All to BE One.

If the Void was filled then there would no longer be a Void. Emptying oneself to establish the Void opens a vacuum that tends always to fill back up -- then we are back to the emptying again -- a vicious circle I would say. When we establish the Void IN our emptying of our conditioned notions, we should simply Dwell IN the Void and BE at peace because we established the Void. Stand guard so that the Void never gets re-filled. What-IS is What-IS and can be no greater or less than What-IS so expansion would be out of the question. It is IN the Void that What-IS does Unfold such that we are finally able to Recognize it AS it IS. When we are empty, projecting nothing into/onto whatever we experience, we can Recognize What-IS as it IS.
